π Program Overview:
The ACTI Stand-Up Forklift Training Program equips participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to safely operate, inspect, and maintain stand-up counterbalance forklifts. This program complies with OH&S legislation, CSA B335 standards, and industry best practices to support workplace safety and performance.
Participants will learn pre-use inspection procedures, machine anatomy, battery safety, operational practices, load handling, hazard awareness, and emergency protocols specific to stand-up forklifts used in warehouses, logistics, and manufacturing environments.
π Key Learning Modules:
- Module 1 β Legislation, Code, and Standards: Alberta OH&S, CSA B335, employer/worker responsibilities, inspection/evaluation intervals, and international standards.
- Module 2 β Introduction & Components: Types of forklifts, machine anatomy, pre-shift inspections, operatorβs manual, capacity plates, and battery care.
- Module 3 β Stability Principles: Understanding balance, center of gravity, stability triangle/pyramid, dynamic forces, and load placement.
- Module 4 β Safe Operations: Operator conduct, parking, traveling safely, hand signals, operating in tight spaces, ramps, docks, trailers, and pedestrian awareness.
- Module 5 β Common Hazards: Real-world incident case studies involving tip-overs, struck-by incidents, elevated personnel, falling loads, dock run-offs, and equipment failures.
